Eric's obituary
Eric was born December 6th, 1982, in Fargo, ND to Richard Ludwig and Patty Ludwig (Wey). He grew up in Drake, ND, graduated from Drake High School and then from Bismarck State College.
Eric moved to Seattle, WA in 2007. During his career as a chef was when he met his wife, Cathleen (Cat Malone) Ludwig. Eric and Cat were inseparable taking in all the joys the world offered them, doing it side by side. Unsurprisingly, in 2018, they got married at one of their favorite restaurants in an intimate and private ceremony.
Eric had a way of making you know that you mattered, were loved and that he supported you and he did this without even trying. His endless belief, adoration and support in his wife was something that went without question. Eric didn't care about possessions, where you came from or what your background was; he just wanted to know you were a good hearted person. He wanted the world to be a better place and that meant helping each other out; it was as simple as that. That was one of the many amazing qualities of him that will be missed most.
If there was a baseball game, football game, friends or music, Eric was there. He was about enjoying life and doing it with the people he cared about most. He loved listening to many different genres of music, podcasts, sports but mainly the Green Bay Packers, Mariners, Bison football and the Miami Heat. He rescued animals when he saw one in distress and had an unwavering loyalty to them all. His dog, Griffey (his very best friend), 2 cats and bunnies gave him light when the days seemed dark. Their hearts are grieving just as much as ours.
He is survived by his: Wife: Cat (Malone) Ludwig, Mother: Patty (Tom) Ludwig (Wey), Father: Richard (Laurie) Ludwig, Brother: Joe (Andrea) Ludwig, Nephews: Luke, Jaxon, and Ayden. Brother- in Law: Andrew (Katylyn) Malone, Mother- in- Law: Rebecca (Dan) Kelly, Father- in- Law: Sheldon (Randi) Malone. He is proceeded in death by his grandparents and many aunts and uncles.
A luncheon is offered after the service. We thank you all for coming.
