Eric Fox 1959-2023

Eric Fox, 64, of Abiquiu, NM, passed away on August 25, 2023. Eric was born on August 2, 1959, in Orange, NJ. He grew up in Livingston, NJ. Eric was a writer, poet, teacher, empath, athlete and a compassionate independent spirit.

Eric had a deep passion for literature, poetry and education. He attended Livingston High School in Livingston, NJ and went on to pursue higher education and post-graduate studies at Montclair State University in Montclair, NJ. Throughout his career, Eric dedicated himself to the written word. He was a full-time writer, memoirist, and poet, leaving behind a legacy of beautiful prose and heartfelt verse.

Eric's passion for teaching led him to various positions as a professor of English. He shared his knowledge and love for literature with students at Kean University in Union, NJ, Kennesaw State University in Atlanta, GA, and Northern New Mexico College in Espanola, NM.

Outside of his professional life, Eric had a zest for adventure and a love for the outdoors. In his younger years, he starred on the baseball and football fields, showcasing his athletic gifts. In later years, he found solace and adventure in hiking the deserts, camping under the stars, and swimming in the rivers of the western United States.

Eric is survived by his brothers, Lyle and Michael. He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey, and mother, Mitzi. His warm heart, wisdom, creative mind, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
