Scott's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Eric Ellis, better known as Scott, on September 10, 2023. Born on October 22, 1955, Scott touched the lives of those around him with his gentle and kind nature.
He is survived by his loving children, son Justin Ellis and daughter Katelyn Ellis. In addition, he leaves behind a beloved daughter-in-law, Sandra "Bean" Azud, and cherished granddaughters Dalilah and Erika Pratt. His brother, Calvin "Lane" Ellis, sister-in-law, Terra Fox, and brother Jeff Ellis also survive him. Scott was predeceased by his parents, Jefferson "Calvin" Ellis and Doris Bateman-Ellis also brother Gary Neal Ellis.
A lover of all seafood, particularly scallops, Scott also had a penchant for chocolate milk and sweet tea. A fan of the music of Jethro Tull, he was known to enjoy a range of television shows including 'The Witcher', 'Law and Order', 'Mash', and the 'Perry Mason Show'. Scott was an ardent supporter of the Dallas Cowboys and Virginia Tech, and loved to engage in word games and solitaire.
His favorite recreational pastimes included visiting the beach and watching television. Locally, he was particularly fond of Sandbridge and Ocean View Beach. "The color yellow is bright and cheerful" he once said so it was the color he chose to paint his bedroom where he spent his last days fighting for a healthy future.
