Background
My father was diagnosed with throat cancer in July of this year. It progressed rapidly to stage 4 so he had a Tracheotamy and feeding tube placed the last week of July to prepare for a complete Larengectomy. During this time my fiancé and I cared for him and fed him hoping he would make it through. On the 30th of August He went through with the surgery. A surgery we were told should add another 15 to 20 years to his life. A week after the surgery he came home. Only 2 days after returning he passed away in our home in his bed. We were directed to bring him to a funeral home that wants almost $5000 to give him a basic cremation so that we could do a service in North Carolina where Dad grew up. We have since found somewhere cheaper but now I have to pay almost $800 to the funeral home and the new place $775 as well. Any remaining money would go toward his storage unit so we can keep dad's belongings safe until we're able to get them out of storage.
