Emmett A. Yana (95) of Laguna Niguel, CA, passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He was born in Detroit, MI to parents Antonio & Rosaria Iannantuono, hailing from Italy’s Campania region.

Known for his kindness and gentle disposition, Emmett led an exemplary life as a beloved husband, father, and grandfather devoted to his family, Italian heritage, and Catholic faith. He was committed to giving back through fundraising and volunteer activities (Sons of Italy), and passionate about the world of sports – from coaching youth football and baseball teams, to cheering on the Rams and Los Angeles Dodgers.

He is survived by Cynthia Yana, his loving wife and partner of 66 years, children Anthony Yana, Lynda Yana, Jeff Yana (wife Brigitta), Karen Riggione (husband Louis), grandchildren Cameron Yana (wife Rebekkah), Francesca Riggione, Gabrielle Riggione, Bella Riggione, and great grandson Leonardo Yana.

Church services will be held at St. Kilian’s in Mission Viejo, CA on September 28 at 10:30 am. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow.
