Emma (Luna)'s obituary

Emma (Luna) Marie Knickman, age 27, passed away on October 19th, 2023 in her home surrounded by her family and held with love, just as she has always wanted.

After 9 relapses Luna became the longest living survivor of Osteosarcoma, a case study of determination, love, and the will to live.

Luna was an exceptional spirit of love, joy, brilliance, and occasional mischief. Doing her best to live, inspire, love and help so many people during her 14+ year long fight with cancer. Getting more out of her life than she ever thought possible, and kept fighting for more, up until the very end.

She will be held forever in our hearts as a fierce lover of life, learning, space science, architecture, Anime, transgender rights, kink, and most of all her brother Bo.

She is survived by her fiancée Skye Hawthorne, father Roy (Ryan) Knickman, mother Debbie (Eric Morris) Knickman, brother Bo (Claire Hamilton) Knickman, grandmothers Eileen Fore and Erika Stephan, Aunt Donna (Elliot) Butler Blut, Uncle Andrew (Sabrina) Stephan, Mark (Patty) Stephan and a number of cousins and a plethora of friends who loved her more than words can express.

There’s not a person like her, and there never will be. But her light will shine with us forever.

A celebration of life and bike ride will be held on November 18th at Altona Grange outside of Boulder Colorado. The ride will begin at 10 am from Altona Grange and the celebration of life will follow at noon. The family is requesting that those who would like to attend the Celebration of life please RSVP to CRK3@aol.com so that they can anticipate attendance, all are welcome.
