Emily's obituary
Emily was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and grew up in Weston, Connecticut and a suburb of Chicago, IL. She attended the Center for Talent Development at Northwestern University starting at age 12 and graduated from the Francis W Parker School in Chicago in 2005. She fulfilled lifelong ambitions of attending Duke University and becoming a doctor. She earned a BS in Chemistry from Duke in 2009, and an MD from the Louis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in 2015. She then completed her pediatric residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, where she was selected to be a Chief Resident. Most recently, she worked as a Pediatric Hospitalist at Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Towson, MD. She was a dedicated and compassionate physician, and loved her community at GBMC.
Emily relished life in Baltimore and could always be counted on for a good restaurant recommendation or news of an interesting event. She was a gracious hostess and guest (throwing the best New Year’s Eve celebrations) and was always game to go exploring and experiencing. She will be missed at dinner parties, gatherings, movie nights, and all such happenings to come.
She is survived by her loving parents, Jim and Beth Reeves, her sister Liz and her dog Josephine (who will be moving in with her grandparents, dog-aunts, dog-uncle and cat-uncle). Most importantly, Emily was loved by so many and will always be remembered for her sense of humor, her unique style, her love for dogs (especially Josie), and her big brain.
