Emily Como (nee Villalta), aged 85, of Riverhead NY, formerly of Paramus NJ, passed away peacefully at her home on December 24, 2022 after a long illness, with her family at her bedside.  Born in New York NY in 1937, she was a beloved mother to John, of Cleveland OH, and Michelle, of Riverhead, and devoted sister to Mary, also of Riverhead. She is predeceased by her parents, Carlos and Emily Villalta. Emily was a teacher by profession for many decades, a talented musician, and a lover of animals and sports. She was loved and admired by all who knew her, and her gentle and kind spirit will be missed greatly. 

A celebration of life ceremony will be held in her honor at McLaughlin and Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead NY from 9am-11am on Saturday, January 7th, 2023. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to Our Lady of the Visitation Roman Catholic Church in Paramus NJ.  A Catholic mass will be held in her honor at 11:30 am at Saint Isadore's Church in Riverhead NY.
