Sorry I did not know of Emil passing away until today. I have not seen him for about 56 years. But he was as good a friend as I had growing up in Gary. The world has lost a great person . His kindness and friendship I will always cherish and miss. My condolences to his family and friends. Mike Levin

A lasting and beautiful childhood memory I have of my Uncle Emil was when he made little puppets out of yogurt containers for us (The Deleon kids). He would play and laugh with us. A couple weeks ago, I was so grateful to talk with him and Aunt Karen and I shared this memory with him and he remembered and laughed. It is a conversation that is forever etched in my heart. He helped me during a rough time when I was fifteen and I lost my dad Efrain Deleon. He gave me straight forward and honest advice. Through the years we didn’t see each other yet that last conversation with him reminded me of his unconditional love for family.
