>Mr. Emerson Alvey, 87, of Louisville, KY, passed away on December 18, 2025.

>Emerson was born on November 16, 1938. He served in the United States Coast Guard where he became a Radioman , serving in USCG Rockaway and USCG Firebush. After leaving the service he worked for Western Electric and Bell South / AT&T advancing to regional manager over Kentucky and Tennessee. He retired in 1997. 

He was a member of the Kentucky Colonels and the AT&T Pioneers as well as the Kentucky Humane Society reflecting his lifelong love and concern for animals.

Emerson was a great storyteller and loved to share the events of his life with family and friends.

Emerson is survived by his loving wife Nancy and his two daughters Jody Stovall and Jackie Godwin as well as his brother Keith and grandchildren Leslie , Kate, and Hanna.  He also has six great grandchildren- Jonah, Mason, Marina, Everleigh, Lyla, and Presley Emerson. 

Emerson will be greatly missed by all of us and will be remembered fondly.

He will also be missed by his kitty Missy.
