Elsa's obituary
Elsa Lambert passed away on August 6, 2024, in West Hills, California at the age of 85. Born on April 27, 1939, Elsa lived a life marked by generosity, introspection, and a gentle honesty that endeared her to all who knew her.
Her Grandfather founded the advertising behemoth that conceived the Gillette Blue Blade, and Listerine brands, in post-war America.
Elsa graduated from Marlborough Academy and went on to pursue higher education at Smith College, where she studied Psychology. She studied under the icon Carl Jung on her year abroad in France. This academic background paved the way for her successful career as a publisher of calendars and greeting cards. Her products often featured insights into personality quirks and their remedies, reflecting her deep understanding of human nature. Elsa was also renowned in her community for her spirited organization of neighborhood Easter Egg Hunts and Christmas Celebrations, her home always adorned with her vast Christmas decoration collection. Each year, she delighted family vendors and staff with Giant Gingerbread cookies, a testament to her generous spirit.
Beyond her professional life, Elsa was passionate about animal rescue and maintained a significant real estate portfolio across Southern California, including properties in Montecito, Venice Beach, and Santa Monica. She found joy in music, long walks, and the serene beauty of English country gardens. Elsa was also an avid collector of art and antique furniture, and she took great pleasure in landscaping.
Elsa's family was central to her life. She is survived by her daughter, Lily Lambert, and sons, Tim, James, and Theodore Otis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford David. Her Grand children are Julian, Virginia, Victoria, and Sofia.
A "virtual" celebration of life will be held on the one-year anniversary of her passing, August 6, 2025, at noon PST. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Elsa's memory can be made to PETA, the Cousteau Society, or the SPCA, reflecting her love for animals and commitment to their welfare.
