Elpha Jane's obituary
EJ was born on March 17th, 1929, to Vern Martin and Ruth Boots (Poling).
She graduated from Marion High School, Class of 1947, and married Ferman Collins on May 29th, 1949.
She remained in the Marion community for several years while raising a family and operating the Dairy Isle.
EJ was a very special lady and enjoyed traveling, playing cards, working puzzles, biscuits and gravy for breakfast, and dancing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ferman (1993), granddaughter, Holly Collins-Shrout (2019), and daughter-in-law, Brenda Collins (2020).
Survivors include all four children; sons Stephen Collins (Swayzee) and Russell “Cork” Weller (Marion); daughters Jane (Collins) Buckler (FL) and Cynthia (Collins) Conner (KY); 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. She will be severely missed by all.
EJ was a loyal member of Mercy Baptist Church and Reverend Todd Graham will preside over graveside services at the Estates of Serenity cemetery in Marion, on Saturday, August 21st at 10am, where her ashes will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband.
Following the service, friends and family can gather at Liberty Friends Meeting church at 1008 W. 800S, Fairmount, IN 46928 from 12pm-3pm to celebrate EJ's very full life.
