I enjoyed his course Urban Economics at CSU as well as his humor. May his memory be for a blessing 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽.

Dr. Leach was my favorite professor at Chicago State. He believed in me. When I had surgery, he called my house and sent my homework through a classmate. I am forever grateful to him bc he motivated me to apply to careers that I never believe I could have. He even sent my resume to employers. I landed my first government job upon graduation bc he made me apply for positions outside of Chicago. I am so grateful for his love and support.

Periodically, I would meet Dr Leach, and, each time after leaving him, I sensed that I had been in the company of someone who was extraordinary. His humility, cordiality and, certainly, his talents would reverberate through me for some time.
Lest, I forget…his aura of delicate humanity. For me, and always, here was a soul sent from nowhere but God’s home to lighten the load each of us carries.
He’s with us now…reminding you and me of the power of gentleness..of benevolence..of the human spirit.
I look forward to seeing him, again.

My Prayer and Condolences to Sis Leach and Her Family

I extend love to to Joan and Elroy's family, as he joins his Savior and leaves a gaping hole here. I have admired his steady and humble work for Jesus at his beloved Austin Church. Back in the 80's my mom was mission bookkeeper for Calumet City Church of Christ. We became aware of the after-school programs, roof needs, and generous work of Elroy's service. A few years ago I was part of a church group who visited the summer camp and presented a one-day lesson. It was fun, and we got just a glimpse of a 6 week program that endeared Elroy to those kids. I always admired Elroy and Joan from a distance. Please accept my tribute.

35 years of knowing this wonderful man of God. He adopted me as a part of his family. He lead me to Christ at the age 13. Because of the grace of God for this man, I stand as a member of the Austin church of christ where he served as pastor. From the age 6, I attend the programs held as the director of the Christian Service Center. From summer Day camp and after school programs, teaching me and others about Jesus Christ and education and investments which he stood firm on. Many more memories to share but i cant share them all here. Loved to call him My dad. He will be missed. Contuine to rest our Lord. Job well done. Thank u for EVERYTHING. Your godson Floyd L. Barnes
