Leroy was the oldest of my Bumgarner cousins. He was much loved and respected by all of us. I remember him as being a fun loving, jokester guy, always telling tales of his younger days. We will miss him and hold him forever in our heart. Prayers for each in his immediate family.

I am so sorry to learn of Lee's death. Although his obituary is detailed, it failed to mention one of his first jobs. He was our school bus driver in Bedford County, Virginia for a year when I was in elementary school. The route to get everyone home took almost an hour over crooked narrow roads, some of which were paved and some of which were not. Our bus was a 1948 Ford with a heater that worked sometime and a transmission that shifted most of the time. It seems incredible now to think a teenager was entrusted with getting a bus load of kids home safely, but Lee did it every day. He was fun loving, but a good man.
Please take solace that Leroy is now living in the house of the Lord. Please know that Leroy's family will be in our thoughts and prayers.

I wish to express my sincere sympathy to your family as you mourn the loss of your dear loved one. May you find comfort knowing that, “God is our refuge and strength, a helper that is readily found in time of distresses.” – Psalm 46:1
