On July 11, 2023, Elmer Paul Henderson, Jr. died in Zephyrhills, Florida, at the age of 74.

Paul is survived by his former wives, Thelma and Donna; children, Tanya (Slade), Erica (Duke), Jennifer (Jeff) and Jeff; grandchildren, Cody (Sydny), Von, Emma, Neecole, Jianni, Austin, Timmy and Phillipe; great grandchildren, Cooper, Sawyer and Lawton; and siblings, Gracie and Lydia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Paul, Sr. and Mary.

Paul was born on Sept. 19, 1948, in Tampa, Florida. He graduated from King High School and went on to attend the University of South Florida where he graduated with a degree in marketing. He also served in the United States Army.

Paul loved being active and could be found sailing, kayaking or biking whenever he could. He took great pride in his long careers as a residential contractor and later as a fire inspector, giving his all to every job. But more than anything, he was happiest with his guitar in his hands, writing and singing many original songs.

A celebration of life will be held on Aug. 11, 2023, from 2 to 4 p.m. at New Walk Church in Zephyrhills. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be sent to the Gulfside Hospice in Zephyrhills or the Alzheimer’s Association.
