Ellie had such a a warm heart. She took a special interest in my brother and got him to help her teach Sunday school. She also thought I ought to have a book by Martin and Osa Johnson called I Married Adventure. They were a couple who traveled on safari in Africa and had met my grandfather there. So she promptly bought me a book and gave it to me just because she loved me. No birthday or any other reason :-). She also crocheted my babies a blanket that still has her tag on it with her name. She was a joyful, caring, lovely person.
