"White Butterflies" written and performed by Jenna Weitzman during the memorial celebration of life on March 5, 2022.
Ellen was amazing in so many ways: kindest person ever, raised a beautiful daughter, so supportive and encouraging at work when I was a newbie on 14M, lit up a room with her energy, and lived her life to the fullest. I’m honored to have worked for her and to witness how grounded and caring she always was. Thank you Ellen for being with us in this lifetime! We love you!

Ellen was one my absolute best friends in life.

Even from our earliest meeting our freshman year of college she was radiant.  How she managed to become even more vibrant over the past few years still leaves me in awe and inspired to live a fuller life on this earth.

I am humbled to have known you, LN. Thank you and your family for making such a positive impact on my life.

Ellen was an amazing person and a caring, professional and dedicated nurse. She was passionate about the work she did at UCSF, and brought so much healing and compassion to her patients. Ellen was brave and set an example for everyone in how she conducted herself as a professional nurse, as she helped patients make the transition from the hospital to home. She was able to use her own experiences as a patient to really connect with her patients, they loved her.She will be missed by so many and the earth will be slightly off it’s axis without her in it. I am sending healing peaceful energy to her family, especially Morgan and Ben, as I know her loss leaves a huge hole in their hearts; please know Ellen leaves a legacy of caring and healing at UCSF. I will miss her and I am grateful to have worked with her.
Ellen was one of the spirits who
Will leave the world with her footprints and
Contributions.
She was a star, a champion. Distance prevented knowing this first hand but it resonants.
Rest well, Ellen.

So many good times and wonderful memories with an amazing friend that we’ll always carry with us in our hearts.  Our most sincere condolences to Morgan, Ben, Kathleen & Steve, Tony & Donna, and the entire Porcaro family as we’ll keep all of you in our thoughts & prayers.
It is with sorrow that we share the grief felt by the loss of Ellen. May her memory bring solace to all who loved her.
Dearest Ellen, we love you and support you on your journey.
Ellen was generous with her time, love and expertise in so many areas. She had a feel-good positive spirit no matter what she was doing. I loved her cute laugh. She was a wonderful co-worker and friend. I've already seen two white butterflies and embraced everything around me. XOX

I am deeply sorry for our individual and collective losses of Ellen. She was truly one of a kind, with a bright spirit and loving heart. I had the privilege of working with Ellen for a short time and she was exceptional in her profession and as a fellow human being. I am truly going to miss her. My heart goes out to everyone whom Ellen has touched in her life.
