Elizabeth Smith, 43, has passed away in a fateful car crash just outside of Mississippi. Elizabeth (Bessie) was born to parents William and Laura Smith, and is survived by son Jack Gee Jr, and husband Jack Gee. Bessie has contributed many things to not only the musical world, but to the women's movement as well as the African american movement. With her powerful, soulful voice she won over the hearts of many people and worked her way to the top. Although she may be gone, she will never be forgotten. Help her legacy live on.
