Poem by Elizabeth Featherstone Hoff and
then given to Rosemary Lucketr on my birthday, 1995
Little child running wild
Turning cartwheels in a row
Little child running wild
Leaving footprints in the snow
Summer smiles melt winter tears
As older voices calm your fears
Little child running wild
Hair is flying in the wind
Little child running wild
Arms and legs are joining in
Laughter spins its magic still
And we are bent to do its will
Little child running wild
Never watching where you go
Little child running wild
We are caught up in your glow
Loving with no questions why
Just thoughts of all you want to try
Sing your song of joy, be free
Today is all you know
My heart aches with what I see
And where I have to go
Your world
is waiting fresh and new
Take me
Take me there with you.
