Elizabeth J. (Shomper) “Bette” Fischer was born in Williamstown, PA on July 8, 1924. She passed

away on March 14, 2024, at the age of 99. Throughout her amazing life, Bette and her family

resided in Havertown, PA and West Chester, PA for many years. In 2004 Bette moved to The

Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, PA for her remaining years.

She is predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Charles S. “Charlie” Fischer, Sr., her son Edwin

“Ed” Fischer, her granddaughter, Jennifer Donnelly, brother Robert Shomper and sisters Gail Long and Faye Welker

She is survived by: Her son Charles Fischer, Jr. (Sue); grandchildren Lori Thompson (Terance),

Jeffrey Fischer (Kathy), Tyler Fischer (Margaret); great grandchildren, Emily Mason (Matthew),

Joshua Fischer, Evan Sorace (Kayli), Justin Fischer, Aiden Donnelly, Gavin Donnelly, Tallulah

Fischer; her sister Anita Schmeidel; niece, Dawn Krpan and nephew, David MacFarlane; step

granddaughter, Stephanie Bates, along with numerous friends and family.

Please join the family in celebrating her life at Christ Lutheran Church, 27 High Street,

Elizabethtown, PA. Visitation will be from 11:30 to 12:30, with a brief Eastern Star Service

honoring her many years of service from 12:30 to 12:45. A memorial service will be held from

12:45 to 1:30, with a lunch to follow at the church. Interment will be held privately and at the

convenience of the family in Northwood Cemetery, Philadelphia.
