“Honey” was always a trooper. I was lucky to play on sports teams with her. She was a great example of a “ team player” as well as a gracious winner as well as loser. She will be missed.
So very sorry to hear of Honey's passing. She was always so kind and had such a beautiful smile. I always enjoyed speaking with her whenever I saw her at Meeting. Hold her tightly in your hearts.
Honey and I have been best friends since she got over the shock of seeing me for the first time - I was jumping on her mother's bed, which was strictly forbidden. That was 1948 and I had just arrived with my family from England. For 73 years, through thick and thin, we've shared joys and sorrow, and so much laughter. The world is a poorer place now that she's gone. I send my deepest condolences to Dan, Sam, Brooke, and Nathan.
Honey and I were classmates at Westtown, so I knew her for many years. She was always energetic and fun. Life will be duller without her. My best wishes to the family.
I met Honey & Dan thru my aunt Ann Gregory; I believe they were roommates at Westtown? I spent a couple weeks taking care of Sam & Brooke at Lake Paupac, allowing Honey & Dan time to play tennis, sail & spend time together. Later I baby-sat for all 3 kids at the blueberry farm until I left for college. I have many warm memories of that summer, as well as through Deer Creek Friends Meeting. Honey was a warm, loving person & devout Quaker. I know she will be missed; praying that all your family memories will ease your loss. Anne Gelder Gideon

I have many wonderful memories of Aunt Honey, but the earliest was from the spring of 1959 Westtown Alumni Day when she and a friend took me roller skating in what then was the New Gym at Westtown School. It was a wonderful time and she made it really fun.
I wish to send my condolences to the Derr family on the passing of Elizabeth Derr, Honey to many, Mrs. Derr to me. I have wonderful memories of the farm, our annual blueberry picking, and visits where I enjoyed her generous, hard working spirit. I’m sending much love and prayers.
I am so sorry to hear of Honey's passing and send condolences from my mother (Rose Takano Hijikata) and our family. My mom cared for baby Honey in California and on the drive east after Elton got my mom and Aunt Miyuki released from their internment camp during WWII, taking personal responsibility for them and their actions. After hearing about her all my life, I'm so glad I got to meet Honey at Arnold's memorial last year. Our thoughts are with her family.
