I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Baso’s passing. I always remember him with a smile on his face. And I remember him holding his pigeons and talking to them while he was petting them.
He was the father of one of my best friends, Regine, and I know he will be greatly missed by his family.

I grew up living next door to Basito, he was the grandfather I never had. He would come by every Birthday, and holiday with his camera, a beautifully handwritten card, and a one-of-a-kind drawing from the one and only. Basito would be the one to put a smile on everybody's face with his hilarious dance moves and contagious smile and laughter, there was never a dull moment in his presence. Baso always had the most intriguing stories to tell about his late wife and her timeless beauty, I knew that he loved her so very much and that she was his Soulmate. I was 5 when me and my family moved next door to Baso, I am now 21. I will never forget those memories I so dearly cherish of Baso. The Cuba family loves you so very much and my heart is happy to know that you are reunited with your one and only true love again. I can only imagine you busting your memorable dance move called " El bacalao" up there in heaven with a Heineken in hand, you will always be in our hearts and will carry your beautiful aura with us in our hearts forever.
