Elaine's obituary
Elaine Francis Hay Couture, 78, of Kissimmee, Florida, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home earlier this week. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, Elaine lived a life full of service and had a vibrant spirit.
Born and raised in New Zealand, Elaine proudly served in the Royal New Zealand Air Force, where fate would introduce her to her first husband and father to her children, Bill Watson. Leading her across the world to Florida, where she raised her two children and became a nurse.
Elaine dedicated over 40 years to her work as a nurse, retiring from Celebration Hospital after an extraordinary career. There, she helped deliver countless babies and served as the head lactation consultant, offering comfort and guidance to many families.
Elaine had a magnetic personality, knack for storytelling and a zest for life that touched everyone who knew her. She loved sharing her Kiwi roots, indulging in shopping trips, sipping macchiatos, sharing childhood pictures of her horses, and—most of all—bragging about her grandchildren.
She lived life bravely, boldly and on her own terms.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Couture; daughter, Michelle Blakely; son, Aaron Couture; four adoring grandchildren; brother Lawrence Hay & sister Vivienne Hanna. Elaine’s legacy lives on through her family, her many elaborate stories, and the many lives she touched.
Her presence was a gift, and her memory will be remembered forever.
Arrangements are still in the process of being finalized, we appreciate everyone who has reached out and thought of us during this difficult time.
