Ela Maee Jamison 91, of Charleston, South Carolina and formerly of Springfield, Ohio passed away October 1, 2018 in St. Rita's Medical Center in Charleston, SC . She was born November 26, 1927 in Springfield, Ohio the daughter of Fairest Hayes Sr. and Janice Gaines. She was a member of the Church of the Living God and had been employed at the Ford Motor Company and Lima Convalescent Home. She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Robert Jamison; daughter, Dana Jamison both of Ft Worth , Texas, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grand- children; brothers, Adrian Jones of Charleston, South Carolina, Fairlond Hanes and William French both of San Diego, California; sisters, Joyce Hayes and Crystal Brown both of Denver, Colorado, Niecy Gaines and Violet French both of San Diego, California and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Jamison; brothers, Kenny Gaines, Fairest Hayes Jr. and James Stevie Hayes who passed away one day after Mary; sisters, Marlisha Hanes, Tommy Elise Hanes and Rolina Hanes. Visitation is Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m October 6,2018, in Covenant United Methodist Church, 529 W. Johnny Lytle Avenue Charleston , South Carolina .
