Eileen's obituary

Our beloved mother Eileen Barringer Mullis died on Sunday, November 12, 2023. She was born to Phil Louis Barringer, MD and Regina Wilson Barringer of Monroe, North Carolina on December 2, 1951, in Danbury, Connecticut. She was preceded in death by her husband, retired Master Chief Petty Officer David W. Mullis of Charleston, South Carolina. Eileen completed her secondary education at Brenau Academy in Gainesville, Georgia following with some additional education at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina.

During her life she was active in social societies of many kinds always lighting up a room. She continued to remain an active member in adulthood for multiple military spouse organizations helping support many commands where her late husband was stationed. During her marriage to David W. Mullis she proved to be a wonderful mother who was always there for her three children who survive her: David W. Mullis III, Kristen (Jorge) Gonzalez, Erin Mullis (Kevin Simmons). Surviving her also are four grandchildren: Alexys Evans, Raylan Simmons, Victoria Gonzalez and Donovan Gonzalez, four siblings, ten nephews and nieces and fourteen great nephews and nieces.

The family invites you to privately celebrate her life. Memorial services will be arranged at a future date.
