Eileen's obituary

Eileen M. Dehais passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024 at home in Millbrook, NY at age 91. Eileen devoted her life to caring for her large and growing extended family—raising six children, loving and nurturing 12 grandchildren, and thoroughly enjoying six great-grandchildren. She was a shining example of love and selflessness. From making the rounds with weekly Sunday phone calls to hosting boisterous family meals and gatherings, she was the catalyst that constantly contributed to family togetherness. Her family will forever cherish her warmth, endless kindness, and memories of her delicious home-made apple pie.

She was born in Worcester, MA on December 22, 1932, the only child of Helen Maloney Deamer and Emmett Deamer. Eileen attended South High in Worcester, MA, where she met her future husband, Richard E. Dehais (R.I.P. 2015). They wed on February 12, 1955, and soon moved their young family to NY in 1959. With her devoted husband, Eileen was a longtime resident of the Town of Wappinger and a parishioner at St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls. She moved to The Fountains at Millbrook in 2019 where she made new friends and thrived living in this pleasant senior community.

Eileen is survived by her children listed with their spouses and posterity:

Diane Morrison and husband Glenn of Hopewell Jct,, NY;

     Daniel Morrison (wife Jessica, Kiley, Hudson);

     Matthew Morrison (wife Kelly, Jackson, Natalie);

     Michelle Mattelson (husband Michael, Jacob, Leah);

Richard J. Dehais and wife Karen of Pittsford, NY (Colleen, Darcy, Kaitlyn);

John A. Dehais of Carlsbad, CA (wife Myra, Declan);

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, May 3 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Convent Street, Wappingers Falls, NY. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
