Bright, talented, funny, generous, kind, wonderful Effie.   I had the great, good fortune to work with Effie at the Smithsonian Institution Archives where she enriched the experience for all of us.  She was such a gift and will be missed by so many.  My heart goes out to all her family, her colleagues, and dear friends.  I share your heartbreak.
Effie was always such a helpful and knowledgeable work colleague. I'm so sorry for the loss her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her are feeling. She touched so many lives and will never be forgotten.

Effie was a bright light, as bright as the light of all the rays of the Smithsonian sunburst which she gave so much of her heart and mind to over the years. I provided some guidance and advice to Effie during the last few years I was at Smithsonian and watched her grow and chase her dream of making the collections accessible to millions more people online than could ever come through our doors. This is a tremendous loss for the Institution, but mostly for her family and friends. Please accept my sincerest condolences on your loss. May her memory be a blessing to all.
Effie was a shining light at the Smithsonian and an inspiration to so many who admired her make-it-happen attitude. More than that, she was simply a kind human being with a bright, friendly smile.
