Edwin “Eddie” Ray Oxford, III
Edwin Ray Oxford, III, known to friends and family as "Eddie," was born on September 20, 1962, in Harvey, Illinois. He peacefully passed away in his home in Denver, Colorado, on September 30, 2023, leaving a legacy of love and cherished memories that will live on forever.
Eddie was the beloved son of Edwin Ray Oxford, II, and Marilyn Stady. Throughout his life, Eddie was known for his warm heart, long hair, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family.
He is survived by his five children, Christina, Tony, Nicole, Eddie Ray IV, and Priscilla, who were the center of his world. Eddie was not only a devoted father but also a proud and doting grandfather to Edward, Aaliyah, Eivin, Carter, Ryleigh, Jackson, Landon, and Erykah. His family brought immense joy to his life, and his legacy will continue to thrive in the hearts of his children and grandchildren.
Eddie found solace in the great outdoors, often spending his time camping and fishing in the picturesque landscapes of Steamboat Springs, where he felt at peace with those that he held dear. He was also an avid fan of gaming, diving into the virtual worlds of Final Fantasy and World of WarCraft, and his love for classic rock music was a defining part of his identity. His other hobbies included cooking, building model cars, and drawing cartoon characters.
Eddie's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His memory will forever be cherished, and his warm smile and enduring love will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of sharing their lives with him.
In honoring Eddie's memory, we find solace in the love and togetherness he fostered within his family, and we remember the laughter and joy he brought to every moment. May he rest in eternal peace.
Eddie did not want his family and friends crying over him so in lieu of a traditional funeral service, the family will be hosting a celebration of Eddie's life where all family and friends are invited to attend and share their fondest memories of Eddie. Eddie’s Celebration of Life will be held on November 4th, 2023 at the VFW, 4747 W Colfax Denver, CO, 80204, from 1:00pm - 5:00pm.
