I always enjoyed spending time with you and your kids on the few occasions that I was able as a child, Uncle Sonny. You actually helped change the way I think with a few simple words when I was a young woman, and I NEVER forgot the words, regarding an unkind comment I had made about another's suffering. I had said, "It's all in her head," and you kindly and gently responded with, " . . . but isn't it real to her??" I swear that simple question completely changed my attitude about such things and has been repeated more than once by me since that day. Thank you, Uncle Sonny, for that wise and generous reflection that turned my thoughts around! My condolences to to my Aunt Penny and to all your children, grandchildren, and other loved ones, even ones that I may never know, who are missing you today.
I will never forget how much my brother, Michael Ray Abney, adored you.  You and my father sitting around and just chatting or the smiles you brought out in everyone near you. Rest well Mr. Ed. Love ya
