Eddie's obituary
It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Captain Edward "Eddie" Royko, a man of undaunting spirit and irreplaceable character, who passed away on April 9, 2026. Eddie lived a full and vibrant life characterized by his generosity, outgoing nature, passion, resourcefulness, and adventurous spirit.
Eddie was always ready to share his time and expertise with those around him. He was everyone's "go-to" guy. His charm was radiant, and his sense of humor was infectious. He strongly believed in the importance of family and friends, values he adhered to throughout his life and instilled in his loved ones.
Some may remember Eddie as the man who cajoles a live band to play Bon Jovi so he can steal the mic and sing Living on a Prayer, a great pilot, and the best handyman. Yet Eddie’s greatest legacy will be the people he poured into, specifically his sons, Jason and Joey, who followed in his footsteps to become pilots. Eddie's influence and his legacy will live on through them.
Eddie is survived by his loving wife, Teresa, and his two sons, Jason and Joey, who share his passions for cars and the love of the sky. Phinn, his grandpup, misses the daily walks around the neighborhood with his grandpaw.
A memorial gathering to commemorate Eddie's life will be held on April 25, 2026. We invite all who knew and loved Eddie to join us as we remember him and pay tribute to his wonderful life.
In lieu of flowers, a fund has been set up in Eddie's honor to support "EAA Chapter 309". For those wishing to contribute, please visit https://everloved.com/life-of… . Your contributions will help continue Eddie's passion for flying and serve as a lasting tribute to his life.
Captain Eddie Royko, a man of love, resilience, and unforgettable charm, will be deeply missed. His life and memories will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know him.
Blue skies up, and keep the wings level.
