Edward's obituary
Edward E Overbay, 91, of 15647 Lucy Lane, Peyton, Colorado, passed peacefully at home with his wife Patsy and daughter Jeri by his side on January 13, 2022.
Edward was the last of his siblings and is preceeded by his two daughters, Barbara and Sheila. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Patsy, and children Lynn, Albert, Jeri, Morgan, Robert, Daniel, Tom, John, and Tina, and 33 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ed was born February 24, 1930 in New Mexico. At 24, he met the love of his life, Patsy in Grants Pass, Oregon. He lived a life of service and was known to many as brother.
When he wasn't working, Ed could be found exploring and creating. He loved his time outdoors and would often camp or hike. He found joy in the simple things that are often overlooked and shared that joy with those around him. He made beautiful glass artwork, carved his own walking sticks, built a cabin, a home, and churches, and wrote poetry.
Edward loved truly and deeply, and that was never more apparent than when he was with Pat. Even well into their 6th decade together, they still had a twinkle in their eyes when they looked at eachother. When they told stories about their lives together, Ed would still look at her as if it was the first time he set his eyes on her.
He adored his family and cherished each moment he had with them. No matter where he was, he was home to many of us. Whenever he could, he would share stories, poetry, or one of the beautiful stones or trinkets he found on one of his adventures. He was happy to share in the good and provide love and support through difficult moments.
Ed was loving, joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful and gentle. He was strong in every sense of the word and he touched the lives of countless family, friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ. He was an indescribably beautiful person and he will be deeply missed.
In accordance with his family's wishes, Edward was cremated. A celebration of life is being planned and will be held in Colorado Springs, Colorado in the summer. Details to be announced at a later date.
