Ed was my neighbor and a man that I grew to love and appreciate. He had a heart as big as anyone I’ve known and cared deeply for those around him. Our neighbor relationship became a friendship that I cherished. One winter an ice storm came through our area and left everyone’s driveways and sidewalks a complete mess. Our young men’s church group arrived at Ed’s place and chipped away and shoveled away the ice in his large driveway. He heard the noise and came out and was so appreciative and grateful for our service. He treated everyone to snacks and drinks.
I remember when Ed and his band mates performed in his living room one afternoon. It was so much fun to watch him and his friends play while the rest of us danced and enjoyed the music.
Ed was bigger than life. His smile, his sparkly, dancing eyes, is genuine friendship. He will be missed.
Such a wonderful remembrance and service - thank you for sharing the video. My heart aches for you Alda and your family with the loss of Ed. So glad I got to meet him. Praying for peace and comfort for all on the road ahead. Hold him in your hearts and cherish the special memories together - they are forever and will help to sustain you. And be aware of the little signs that Ed will leave you, letting you know that he is looking over you. They'll fill your heart with great warmth and joy. 🙏❤️
Dearest Alda and family, Maurice and Tony... our deepest sympathies to you all for the big loss of our dear childhood friend Eddie. May his wonderful and cheerful soul rest in peace and memory be eternal🙏.. Eddie was a real friend since our young teenage years in Benghazi, Libya. We were very close friends with the "Nahas" family.. we had a beat group together (in the 60's) and helped raise funds for the blind society and needy people by performing in big theatres. Our friendship continued in boarding school in Lebanon. We enjoyed three group reunions in Capo D'Orlando in Sicily, Chania ( Crete in Greece) and thereafter in a resort in Athens. A couple of years ago, my two brothers and a couple of cousins, drove from Houston to Dallas to make a special day visit to see him and Alda. it was a lovely few hours spent together. Guess a day or two, before he left us, we spoke for more than 17 minutes. he sounded well, strong and was without pain. We had visited the Shrine of St. Charbel (on the mountains in Lebanon) prayed and lit candles for him. Thought that may have helped him cure.  He left us convinced he will go up to the Holy side of Jesus🙏. Eddie you will dearly missed by all those who knew you. God give you the strength and patience our dear Alda (and family) for our "great loss".. God bless you all🙏🙏

Dear Eddie,

You will be missed by all. I  have known you Maurice and Tony  for over 65 years , from the early days in Benghazi at De La Salle scuola Italiana, to the Souk el gharb boarding school in Lebanon and in Benghazi our growing up teen years.  Despite the long separation after Libya , it was wonderful to meet up in Sicily Crete and Greece  for a reunion and recently in Dallas. Throughout the years Eddie your big heart and love for life and fun just kept growing.  Talking to you in hospital on your last days, I felt you were trying to comfort me instead of me comforting you. Your heart was full of love and your mind was at peace . You were ready to take on what the lord had to offer .Dear Alda and family , Eddy left so many memories that will live on forever once the pain of loss eases. May his sweet soul rest in eternal peace.

My condolences to Eddie's family. I first met Eddie at Celebration Dance studio….I asked him to dance and he didn’t just say no….he said Hell no!  Alda and Ed came back a second time and I asked him again…this time he said yes and it was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.  Over the years, we danced, performed, did yoga, did Pilates, played cards, cruised, took art class , old English dancing and just had a lot of fun.  Ed was always my partner in Spades- we were playing into the wee hours of the morning and I  had to win…I was waiting on Ed to play and all of a sudden he face planted on the table …sound asleep!  Luckily, he was OK…and we went on to Win!.  We are both stubborn and curious- which made us great partners in crime- we thought we could master anything and we were too stubborn to give up.  Alda was always there laughing and often wore her ultra blue wig..which she does look fabulous in….we will miss Ed…but he is in our heart forever.  Love you Ed!!!!
Cyndi and family, Deepest condolences for you and your family 🙏. May God give you some comfort in this difficult times.
Ray and I are so sorry for your loss. We sincerely regret that we are unable to attend Ed's Celebration of Life and offer heartfelt condolences to Ed's family and friends. We are truly grateful to have many wonderful memories of good times shared with Ed and our little dance group.  Ed was a good man with a great laugh and a lot of wonderful stories and we know he will be greatly missed.
My best memories of Eddie were when we were very young. Like, early to mid-1970s young. The main thing I remembered, other than the fact that he was always smiling, was that he had the most impressive sideburns of all three brothers. Seriously. They were luxuriant.

But the very best memory I have was from a camping trip to Sequoia. He came with my dad Lee and my mother Dorothy and my obnoxious little brother Jo-jo to sit under massive trees and breathe air that wasn't orange and toxic for a while. He was so happy then. He brought his guitar and played (admittedly kind of badly but it was ok). We taught him sea chanties and he played and we sang under the trees and stars around a camp fire.

It's not always the big events, the important events, that mark how we loved who we loved. It's things like sitting in the dark, singing songs of the sea.
In response to "What always reminds you of Eddie?"

To Ed.

It is in my deepest regret and sympathy that I would not be able to attend the best life memorial celebration of a man I call my friend. It is not by choice but for medical conditions. With all the wonderful unaccountable memories I experienced with you eating my lunch and the reason was always the same “I was hungry” you can not argue that this statement. Remembering the chaos symphonies you were playing on your drums or guitar. The fights I had with monkey Johnny, the card games we used to play, the famous potato fries that Alda used to cook. The Delicious Quals we used to have at have at Gloria’s , the sudden hearing loss I had that obliged me to use a funnel as a hearing aid at Gloria’s. We had a great countless memories my friend, countless. This Rose is your light house that Guard souls in dark clouds to safe shores. We will miss you my friend. I will miss you my friend. I am honored to call you the best friend a man could ever have. One day will meet again. I will come and look for you. I am sure the Quals will never taste the same.

The good ole days.

Ed was such a nice guy.  Just always a smile and a laugh.  A very very good man.

Please accept my deepest and sincere condolences to you Alda, Cindy and Johnny. Edi was a very special guy who cared for total strangers more than he cared for himself. He was extremely giving and kind. I learned a lot from Edi, he took me in and helped me stand on my feet.

I will never forget him.

I know that he will live in me forever!

May his soul rest in eternal peace !

Every time you laugh, think of Ed.

Laugh a lot.

In our prayers, Cynthia

Shared a heart Red heart

Eddie had such a lovely spirit, He will be very missed! Sending our love to everyone.
Our deepest condolences to you and family.
I will miss how the energy and the warmth in the room changed whenever he entered.  It was impossible to not be happy when he was around. He genuinely cared about me and it was always comforting to be near him.  My condolences to the Nahas family.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.
I remember when he bought the sports Mercedes car and I was so happy that he finally got the car of his dreams. I wanted him to drive and enjoy it as much as he could because he worked hard and deserved to have and enjoy it.
