Ed's obituary

Edward Mason, age 78, of Leesburg FL, previously of Windham ME and Brunswick OH, passed away on January 10th, 2021. Ed was born in Cleveland, OH. He attended West High School (Cleveland, OH). Ed spent his career as a dedicated employee of Long Painting Company (Cleveland, OH) and Windham Millworks (Windham, ME).

Ed was an avid boater. He treasured time spent with family and friends aboard the I.B. Dozin on Sebago Lake, Maine. He was a Maine state doubles racquetball champion, a marathon runner and a coach in the Brunswick Pee Wee Football program for many years. He remained forever faithful to his Cleveland Browns, Ohio State Buckeyes and New England Patriots. Ed was blessed with a kind and charming personality and made new friends everyday of his journey through life.

Ed is survived by his wife and best friend of 37 years, Dorothy (Walsh). His children; Gina Zielinski (Robert), Edward Jr., John and step son Michael Hughes. His grandchildren; Joshua (Aulbre), McKala Gonzalez (Christopher), Mason Zielinski (Kristina), Morgan Zielinski and Brandon. His great grandchildren; Oliver and Anna Zielinski. Siblings; Howard (Diane), Daniel, Diane Keeney and Jacqueline. Special nephew; Matthew McCusker. Many nieces and nephews and countless friends. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Mary (Vastag) Mason and his brother Thomas.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Donations may be made in Ed’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Make a Wish Foundation.
