Margaret and Edward James came into my life at a time when I needed them most. I met them one Saturday afternoon when I was feeling lonely and distressed, and they spent about four hours explaining the Bible to me. They were kind, amicable and patient with my broken English. For them, my heavy accent wasn't an issue; all they cared about was that I understood what I was learning. After spending so many hours with me, they asked if I needed anything from the store. A week later, they brought their 9½-year-old daughter, Summeur, with them. Summeur and my three daughters became very close friends and used to study the Bible together. Margaret and Edward introduced me to the North Anaheim Kingdom Hall and opened their home to me, a woman with three small children, when they didn't have to. As a guest in their home, I was able witness their dedication to Jehovah's service and the fine work they put into preaching and all activities of the Kingdom Hall. It brought them great joy to teach others about the beautiful paradise that was possible on Earth, where sickness and death would be no more. I felt privileged to join them in field service and to be called their friend. Often, we (myself, my three children and the James') would all go out for lunch together after Sunday meetings. What fine memories! Edward and Margaret exemplify grace, excellence and generosity, and Brother Edward James will be remembered today and always as a person of great integrity. Thank you, Brother and Sister James, for always thinking of others before yourselves and for all that you did for my family and me. May loving memories bring strength and comfort to you in these difficult times.

Hello Fam, we just found about this sad news through IG. We are now living in Mobile Alabama because we were serving as caregivers for my father-in-law. He recently passed 2 weeks ago, so this is a very emotional time for as well. However, we wanted to take some time out to let you know that we are extremely sorry for your temporary loss.

As I was reading the Obit, it mentioned how Ed mentored younger ones to help them progress in the truth. Well, one of the younger ones was me. I was first appointed an elder in you all's hall over 20 years ago and Ed took me under his wings and taught me so much. I think the one quality that I learned the most from him was the ability to stay calm. In all my years, I never saw Ed lose his cooI no matter how tense the situation was. I can still remember coming over to you all's house and having deep, personal conversations with him, and him guiding me in his low, soft, and calming voice. He helped me in more ways than he will ever know. However, when  I see him again in paradise, I will be sure to give him his flowers. I will always love him and he will always hold a special place in my heart.

This one really hurts but I know the pain that I am feeling can in no way compare to the pain that you all are feeling, but please find comfort in that we will hear his low, soft, calming voice, and we see that unforgettable smile once again very soon in paradise. We will continue to pray for your family. We love each and everyone of you.

Until Paradise, sending love and giant hugs,

Huggibear, Melissa and Lala

Margaret my prayers are with you and your family. Brother James was a wonderful Brother, Husband, father, friend and Shepherd for Jehovah. What a blessing it was knowing him, and thank you for your love and kindness to all your Sisters who needed encouragement from  Jehovah through your husband. And you to who shared your Husband to encourage others, what love from you both. My prayers are with you and your family, Jehovah will give you the strength you need to get through this and we will all see him again through the Resurrection. Love you my wonderful Sister.

We are truly sorry for the great loss of your husband and father of your children.  We had the privilege of getting to know Bro. James shortly before the pandemic outbreak as a zealous elder in our congregation.  Upon resuming meet attendance we appreciated his loving support towards our son with special needs.  His patience and demeanor was greatly appreciated.

My heartfelt prayers to the family and friends of Bro James for your loss.  I did not know Bro James personally but I will never forget his kind, generous, and warm sympathy.  I was sick in hospital with cancer in 2011 and even though he did not know me, he called me and greatly encouraged me by reading Isaiah 41:10,13.  Jehovah provided him to me to give me just what I needed at that time and I am forever grateful for the gift of his encouragement through Bro James.  I also always enjoyed his personally appealing talks at assemblies and conventions over the years.  I look forward to meeting him in the resurrection.🥹

We have shared a treasured friendship for many years - so much so that when time went by and we reunited, it was if no time had passed.  Our love and prayers are with you, along with looking forward to a joyous reunion in Jehovah’s paradise, and seeing Edward pain free!  Love to your family, Margaret.   We love you dearly.

Dear Margaret,  My heart is heavy with this news. You and Eddie were the start of my spiritual career.  I’ll always treasure that.  You two were always a wonderful example of two becoming one flesh.  I know from experience that your grieving will be lengthy. I pray you get the strength, comfort and support from Jehovah and your dear friends and family to endure. Love you.  Cherí Johnson

My dear friend Eddie James has passed away.  He left a very strong impression with all whom he touched.  His tall and slender stature and handsome looks reminds me of King David in the Bible, of whom it gives a similar description.   Not only that, but most importantly, Eddie also loved Jehovah God and faithfully served him until his death.  We will forever cherish his memory until our Almighty God Jehovah, who longs to see him and many others, calls him from the grave to a life of peace and security in the Paradise here on earth that he has promised his faithful servants.  May we all, like Eddie, be faithful to the end, so we too can enjoy such blessings.   Please accept our deepest sympathy and condolences. -- John 5:28, 29; Revelation 21:3, 4; Isaiah 65:21-23

Edward and Margaret were one of the first families we met at the Anaheim North hall when we came back into the truth.  They took us under their wings and made us feel very welcome.  Our hearts are broken at the news of Edward’s passing .  We know he is  definitely in Jehovah’s memory and his name is written in Jehovah’s book of life.  He is temporarily asleep in death right now and we so look forward to seeing him in the new system.  Our love, thoughts, and prayers go out to Margaret, Summeur,  Andrew, and their families as well as to Edward and Margaret’s  families.

My condolences to Margaret and Family.

Edward was a brother that I loved dearly. I have never know him to be anything short of fully devoted to Jehovah God. It is with a heavy heart that i find myself writing this.

He is in the safest place he can be in the memories of our God.

I remember when we first met upon his arrival in Anaheim, they hit the ground running busy in service. Jehovah willing I would like to be reunited in the new order.

I first met Ed around 1994 at Xerox when we worked together on 1090's. He was a pretty quiet guy when we met, but it didn't take me long to get him talking and laughing. He was a great person and a great teammate and was willing to help anyone. He always looked sharp too, no matter what machine he was working on, and he was proud of that. I could never stay as put together as him :-). We worked together for several years and then he worked for me his last couple years at Xerox until his retirement.  I remember our field rides together when he would bring in his tools, cart, stool etc. He would set up shop (literally) and get to work. Very thorough and his customers loved him (James as several called him).  I received great comments from them and our salespeople as well.  I always enjoyed our conversations, especially over his last couple of years working and after he retired as well. It was great to stay in touch with him. He spoke about how much he loved his family and spending time with them, traveling and also teaching. He went into retirement happy and with a purpose. I was proud he called me his friend. Ed you will be missed buddy. Rest in Peace my friend.

Unc, tomorrow will be tough for those that experienced you. 😞 I was just listening to a voicemail you left me back in January.  You made sure to tell me you loved me dearly. I love you dearly too. I’ll always always be grateful for the time we were granted with each other. I know you heard me. I know you knew I came to tell you in person that I love you. I know you and Daddy will rejoice together again. You did a phenomenal job with the time Jehovah gave you.  A pillar of strength, love, humility and a touch of humor, right down to the very end. Rest now, good and faithful servant.

Dear James family
I have so many wonderful memories of Edward, Margaret and Summer growing up in Anaheim. Always role models to look up to, always kind always inviting and always humble. They were  not only beautiful to the bone- they were beautiful people to look at, elegant and always smiling. I’m sad to know Bro James will no longer be by Margaret’s side as I can’t imagine one without the other. This only makes me look forward to the new world when  we will all be reunited with Bro James. My heart is heavy knowing the loss this is for so many.

Edward was a spiritual Dad to me. I will miss him dearly. There are no words to express my deepest sorrow for his loss. My heart breaks for Margaret my spiritual Mom. As well as for their children and family. He will be missed until the resurrection where I can hug him again.
