Edward's obituary
Edward "Ed" Casey, born on May 31, 1925, passed away on August 4, 2021. He is survived by his son, Patrick Casey. Edward was a complex and often difficult man, who struggled with alcohol and had a history of being an abusive father to Patrick and Mary. His actions have had a lasting impact on those around him, particularly the women in his life who endured his abuse.
Despite his flaws, Edward did have some moments of success in his life. One of his greatest accomplishments was winning a horse racing 3-win parlay, which allowed him to enjoy a vacation. Edward's experiences with alcohol also led to him sharing the lesson that, regardless of one's background, one should never drink excessively and then attempt to drive.
Edward's legacy is marred by the way he treated others and the pain he caused through constant belittling and both mental and physical abuse. As we remember him and his life, we extend a heartfelt apology to the women who felt his wrath, especially to his family and Dolores Principe, whom we witnessed being hit by Edward.
As Edward's story comes to an end, it is our hope that the lessons learned from his life will help others to avoid falling into similar patterns of behavior and foster a greater sense of understanding and compassion for those affected by abuse. Rest in peace, Edward "Ed" Casey.
