On Friday July 24, 2020 heaven welcomed home Edward Joseph Hirsch. Born 1957 in Ohio, Ed spent most of his childhood in Buffalo NY, then Edward and his family moved to Columbia SC. Edward was the extremely proud father of two children, Aaron, and Madeline. His kids were his world. He dedicated every day on this earth to making them proud. Edward was a man of many talents. He could serenade you with his guitar, entertain you with his humor, and debate circles around any topic, even if he did not know a whole lot about it. He had the greenest thumb you will ever see, which is exactly why he began his own landscaping company many years ago and continued to enjoy the work his whole life. For him being outside was the only way to live, camping, hiking, exploring, and soaking up all that nature has to offer. All who met Ed quickly learned how caring and kind he was. He always wanted to help those around him to smile and enjoy the day ahead. Animals were his people, more currently his dog Ruthie. Ed always had his trusty partner Ruthie with him on every job site, every road trip, and every night watching tv on the couch. She was a daily companion and inspiration to him. We all love Edward, he was a phenomenal father, uncle, brother, and friend who will live on within us for eternity.
