Edward's obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edward "Ed" Gibble. Known affectionately as Ed to his friends and family, Edward was born on October 15, 1936, and passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025. Though his loss is deeply felt, we are comforted by the cherished memories we have of his warm-hearted, kind, loving, caring, smart, honest, loyal, and devoted nature.

Edward's journey through life was defined by his steadfast determination and extraordinary accomplishments. He worked his way through Gettysburg College and spent a year in law school, demonstrating a fierce commitment to his education. He served his country with pride and dedication as a military police officer. His greatest joy, however, was his family. Edward was a loving grandfather to three grandchildren, a doting great-grandfather to two boys, a nurturing father to two children, and a devoted husband for over 60 years with his Alvi. Also, he was a devoted member of the Masonic Lodge in Pottstown, for over 50 years. He enjoyed taking walks with his handcrafted walking sticks, going to the beach with his family over the years, enjoyed watching Philadelphia sports.

Throughout his life, Edward imparted invaluable wisdom on those around him. He often shared lessons such as, "Honesty is always important," and, "Be kind to others. Treat people with respect and you'll get respect in return." He was a firm believer in doing the right thing, regardless of what others thought, a sentiment that has left a profound impact on all who knew him.

Edward is survived by his children, Traci Jo and Timothy Robert , grandchildren, Kaitlyn Elizabeth, Tanner Edward, Ashley Marie, great grandsons, Marcellus Edward, and Malachi Elijah, and many nieces and nephews who will continue to honor his legacy. His resilience, fortitude, and compassion will remain etched in our hearts and minds as we remember him fondly.

The funeral service for Edward will be held on March 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM at 20 N Franklin St. As we gather to pay our respects, let us remember the remarkable life Edward led and the love he had for each of us.
