I have memories of Mr. Gallaher back when I was at my first job while in high school, Piggly Wiggly in the 90's. I didn't know who he was, except I always hoped he would come through my checkout line just so I could see what he was buying that day!!
He was the only man that I ever knew to purchase wine and cheese and find all kinds of other 'odd' items, that I know no one else in Andrews was buying.
And the Baguettes! The deli would occasionally have the ‘nice’ bread and he would get them to special order items for him too. It’s all coming back to me know! I won’t lie, he inspired me to try some of his finds!
I thought to myself, this man can't be from here, he's way too sophisticated and worldly for Andrews. I loved it! He intrigued me! So funny to think about it now - I was so young and sheltered (lol!).

Everytime I saw grandma she was less and less of grandma. And Bigpop was less and less of bigpop. I remember hearing the stories my mom told me about visiting out there. But my sister and I, including everyone else, we got the wise and tired versions of grandma and bigpop. I loved hearing every story they had to tell. And every song grandma wanted to sing. And honestly I suppose I enjoyed the scowles from Bigpop too for my holy jeans, short shirts, dyed hair, and nose piercing. I was just happy to have them there. When I told Bigpop that I was going to ohio university he had the biggest smile on his face. I was really happy that I was able to make him proud. I aspire to be like grandma in every way. And have their type of marriage and to be loved in that way. Thanks for being my great grandparents. And for giving me an amazing Grammy and great uncle.

Raymond and I loved Ed and Jackie! Other than my mom and dad, I don’t think I have ever seen a love like theirs. I kept in touch with Ed when they left and I will miss them both.
I used to cut Ed’s hair and would enjoy a glass of wine with them. Ed asked jokingly once, how could I charge him for a haircut?(as he had little hair) I told him that I was charging him for a finders fee! I remember we just laughed often about that. I am blessed to have had them in my life. Rest in the arms of Jesus and your sweet Jackie ❤️❤️
