Background
My dad believed in helping others especially domestic violence victims who become homeless and leave all material belongings in order to save their own lives and live a life free of domestic violence. I have personally seen him quietly and humbly hand women cash to leave their abusers and start a new life free from abuse.
My dad would love this type of memorial contribution. It would ease my heart knowing that contributions or donations might save a DV victims life. Like I've previously stated I was blessed. He also taught me at age 15 to place money in a homeless person's cup (was a man) because he believed sometimes people just need a little help to move forward in life. Put simply he liked humbly and quietly helping others and never expected anything in return. He just wanted to help people in bad situations, also children in foster homes were a huge weakness for him. He loved giving a foster child a new backpack or pair of "cool" or stylish jeans or sneakers they would never otherwise afford. He just did these things quietly and I watched while we were alone together and I learned empathy and kindness. He'd love money going to the YWCA. He had tremendous respect for their organization.
