It is with profound sadness that we announce the loss of a remarkable man, Edward "Ted" Elebash. Edward left us on January 29, 2025, merely a month after celebrating his 65th birthday on December 29th.

Edward was known for his humble personality, kind demeanor, a crazy sense of dry humor and his love of ice cream. He was known as being wise, loyal and quiet; much like his Grandfather Lieutenant General Edward W Snedeker, (United States Marine Corps). His favorite food was a double cheeseburger from McDonald's (he thought it was a secret that only he and BBright--his granddog--knew)! And, thanks to David, we all know about Wendy’s, too!

There were few subjects of books you wouldn't find on his shelves, he was well-known for being a voracious reader. He instilled a love of reading in his son, Edward II. He tried to instill the same in his son Hunter but instead, Hunter chose to follow in his footsteps in another way and join the United States Army.

Ted was born to Colonel Dr Clarence Couch Elebash (United States Air Force) and Patricia Snedeker Elebash, both of whom predeceased him. He leaves behind his beloved sons, Edward Hunter Elebash (Annie Fazio) of Jacksonville, Hunter Charles Elebash of Daytona who will miss him immeasurably but treasure the life lessons they learned from him-his work ethic, his value of physical fitness, honesty, his ability to love unconditionally and so many more. His siblings, Patricia, Barbara, and Alan Elebash, all of Atlanta also survive him.

Edward served proudly in the US Army, attaining the rank of O5 before his service ended. He could often be found running, walking, lifting weights, playing racquetball or practicing martial arts at his favorite local gym or Tae Kwon Do or Ko Am Mu Do do jo. Edward obtained his Master's Degree from The State University of New York. Edward was employed by AT&T at the time of his untimely passing.

A philanthropic man, Edward was deeply committed to various causes throughout his life. Edward's legacy is one of a hunger for learning, a love for people, and an undying devotion to his family and a an extreme commitment to leave anyone he met better than he found them. Edward's love for recreational activities with his boys will be fondly remembered. Edward had many dear friends but his longest and most treasured friends were Nels Gyland of Jacksonville and Donny Bowman of North Carolina and his ‘new’ friend, David Gardner, Jr who could definitely not make it to a meeting on time without Ted coming by at the last minute (IYKYK)

Edward's loss deeply grieves us, but we take comfort in the knowledge that his legacy lives on in his sons, who were his life's greatest joy. His humility, honor, and wisdom will continue to inspire us all. Edward's memory will be treasured by his sons, his siblings, nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins and coworkers and many friends and family. His legacy will be held dear by anyone who was fortunate enough to know him, and he will be missed for all eternity.
