Edward Christensen, 64, of Monee, IL, passed away on February 03, 2023 after a long battle with cancer.                                  

Edward was born on  07/29/1958 to Edward and Ruby (Donovan) Christensen in Pontiac, Illinois. He attended  Crete-Monee High School where he was part of the football  team. He loved playing football. He went on to work at Nucor Steel for 25 years. In 1974, he met Joyce Christensen, and they wed in 1988. They have 2  children Holly and Brian.  

Edward was extremely caring and generous to friends and family. He was always there when anyone needed help. He had such a kind heart. His family meant a lot to him.  Edward was also passionate about football and loved the Chicago Bears. He enjoyed gardening with his wife Joyce; as well as decorating for every holdiay. He had an immense love for animals and they always adored him in return.  Anyone who knew Edward knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. 

Edward was predeceased by his mother and father; his 3 brothers, Mark, Kevin, and Terry; his niece Tina; and his dogs Meg and Sugar. He is survived by his wife Joyce Christensen of Monee, his sister Kelly Christensen of McMinnville, TN;  his daughter Holly (Freddy) Christensen of  Monee, his granddaughter Luci; his son Brian (Mandy) Vadeboncoeur, his granddaughter Jenni,  his grandson Danny (Brittney), and his great grandchildren, Clark and Eleanor; his niece Amber;  his nephews Mark, Craig, and Shawn; his dog Oscar, and his granddogs Toki and Butchy.

There will be a memorial service on  2/18/2023 from 1pm to 4pm at Skyline Memorial Park 2400 S Governors Hwy, Monee, IL 60449.
