Edward's obituary
Edward Bricker, 88, of Ladysmith, BC, Canada, passed away on August 30, 2024
The family of Edward Bricker would like to announce his passing on August 30th in his 88th year. Born on July 23, 1936, his childhood was spent in and around Port Elgin, Ontario. He grew up on his family’s farm, working tobacco fields and other odd jobs, eventually venturing out into building and construction. With his sons, he built many houses around the Port Elgin/Southampton area. He finally landed in Ladysmith, B.C. where he ran Barb’s Kitchen with his wife for over 20 years. He was always ready with the coffee pot and more often than not, a shot of something stronger to go with it.
He was predeceased by his parents Jack and Maude Bricker, 2 brothers Walter and John, 3 sisters Marge, Edna and Dorothy. Also his wife of 55 years Barb (nee Charleton) whom he lost in 2007.
He is survived by his daughter Patti (Lance), sons Bill (Joan) and Rick (Barb). Grandchildren Monica (Sean), Andy, Brad (Maegan), David, Jesse, Kyle, Damien, Jessalyn (Drew), Logan and Skylar (Joel). He was also a great grandpa to Atlas, Billy, Jack, Maya, Cruiz, Emalea and Elias.
He lived a full life, travelling with Barb in their motorhome all over Canada and the U.S. They went on many vacations, cruises and casino trips throughout their life together. He was a Mason and an active member of the Eagles for many years.
He loved music and to dance and always told a naughty joke or two. If you were around him for any amount of time you'd hear him belt out, "Oh Sole Mio, chicken cacciatore..."
