The pillar of his family, Edward's greatest joy was in nurturing and watching them grow.
Edward found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was cruising to his favorite spots on his scooter, lending a hand to family and friends with building projects, or spending hours under the hood of a car, bringing it back to life. Edward was a lover of the outdoors. From fishing to camping, boating to hiking, he basked in nature’s grandeur, often alongside his wife, children, grandchildren, and pets. His favorite local spots included the Long Beach Pier, Cerritos Heritage Park and the Santa Fe Dam, while his favorite vacation destinations were Hawaii and the Kern River. He had a gift for fixing things and an even greater passion for teaching his children the skills they would carry with them for a lifetime. Whether it was showing them how to use a tool, how to grill, or solve a problem, he was always patient and proud to pass on his knowledge. He loved nothing more than cheering on his children and grandchildren at their school events and sports games, always their biggest supporter and proudest fan. Being a dad was his greatest joy, and he beamed with pride at the people his children became.
Edward was a man of deep compassion, especially for animals. His love extended beyond people to his beloved pets, who were his constant companions and brought him endless happiness. His warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
His personality was best described as charismatic, energetic, compassionate, funny, loving, caring, fatherly, and helpful. He taught those around him powerful lessons of kindness and the importance of a strong character. His wisdom, shared often in memorable 'dad jokes', has been indelibly printed on the hearts of his family.
His life was a testament to his love for his life partner and best friend, Miriam. His devotion to his family, generosity, and ability to bring laughter into their lives is an enduring legacy that will continue to be cherished. Edward will always be remembered for his kindness, light-heartedness, and his unwavering commitment to being a good person. He has left behind a powerful example for us to emulate - of how to live a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering belief in the power of compassion.
