Edna “Judy” Jeanette Gresham Sparks, 75, of Savannah, died Saturday, May 3. She was born in Lawrenceburg, the daughter of the late Wylie Edgar Gresham and Virgie Guffey Gresham.
She is survived by her children, Charles Whitney of Indiana; Robert T. Whitney of Clifton; Timothy S. Whitney of Tampa, Fla., Thomas G. Whitney of Terra Haute, Ind., Mary T. Opfer Whitney of South Bend, Ind., Theodore G. Whitney of Lynchburg, Va., Cherie A. Jerrolds and Michelle Casteel, both of Savannah; 28 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four children: Jamesetta Collette Whitney, Jeffrey A. Whitney, John Whitney and Peter Whitney and siblings, Iva Ray Lynch, Delmer Gresham, Doris Gobbell, Annalee Ashton and Janice Dryden.
Services were held May 7, at New Creation Church in Savannah with Steve Nielsen officiating. Burial followed at Spann Cemetery at Savannah.
