Edmund's obituary
Edmund Conrad Wight, 63, of Auburn, ME, passed away on January 6, 2024 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston after several complications from his decades long battle with diabetes. He was surrounded by family and loved ones.
Ed was best known for his sense of humor. He always had a quick comeback and enjoyed sharing off collar jokes. He loved to spend time with his family and especially enjoyed watching the Pat's win. And if there was music playing, especially rock and roll, you could catch him singing along and playing the air guitar. Ed also had a gift for writing. As a child he loved to write stories and if you ever received a card from him you could expect a thoughtful handwritten message inside.
Ed is survived by his mother Marie Nadeau, daughter Stephanie Wight, son Kacey Wight, sisters Lanette Goddard, Angela Wight, Deborah Cressey, Christina Savage, brother Stephen Wight, grandchildren Madison Wight, Ryder Thyng and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind many friends including Malcolm Sands, Mike Dubous & Richard Lawton. He was preceded in death by his father Conrad Wight, wife Constance Wight, and children Tyler Wight, Kyle Wight, and Kayla Wight.
Ed attended Cony High School and later pursued higher education at the University of Maine, Farmington where he received his bachelor's degree in Engineering. He worked as an Engineer for many years throughout New England and Taiwan.
A Celebration of Ed’s life is planned for Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 11:00 a.m - 3:00 pm at the American Legion on Washington Street in Auburn.
Our hearts are broken over Ed’s passing and his absence will be felt by many. But his memory will live on in those who knew and loved him. We are comforted knowing that he is with God and reunited with loved ones. May he rest in everlasting peace.
