Pete's obituary
Edmund Peter Radigan, 60, of Tampa, Florida passed away on November 4, 2025 at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City surrounded by his family.
Edmund (Pete) was born on June 2, 1965 in Staten Island, NY. Pete graduated from Hightstown High School in 1983 where he started the men’s tennis team and was a huge competitor. Pete continued his education at Wagner College. He was a member of TKE Fraternity and studied abroad in Bregenz, Austria. After graduation from Wagner, he continued his education at Montclair State University receiving a Masters Degree in Communications. Twenty eight years ago, he received the gift of life through a heart transplant and he never took a single day of that gift for granted. He went on to become the voice of organ donation and the founder of Transplant Speakers International (TSI) where he shared his story to inspire hope, raise awareness, and honor the selfless act that gave him more time on this earth. Pete co-authored the book Tragedy to Triumph, the Story of Tom's Heart with his donor mother. He lived every day with gratitude, humor and heart - literally and figuratively. His strength, courage, and compassion touched countless lives, and his legacy will continue through every person he inspired to become an organ donor. Our heart aches with his loss, but we are endlessly proud of the life he lived and the difference he made.
Pete is survived by his beloved wife Giselle, his son Peter, his parents Ellen and Mickey Radigan, his four sisters Kerry Allmers (Scott), Tracey Sabino (Pat), Jeanie Felipe (John Budenas), and Jennifer. He is also survived by his 15 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Ruth and Bud Radigan and Helen and Edward McGahan.
A celebration of life will be held at St. Mary’s Parish, 747 West Bay Avenue, Barnegat, NJ. Visitation will be Friday, November 14, 2025 from 10:00am - 11:00am followed by a memorial mass promptly beginning at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to njsharingnetwork.org in Pete’s memory.
