So devastated by Ted’s quick passing. My deep sympathies to Cindi and all of his family.   I cherish our times together at the Breck golf course, especially those few holes played in the early evenings after work. Good times.  Libby

Treasuring  the wonderful times that we spent together when you were living in Grand Rapids. The  memories of the Spring Break trip to Colorado the Senior year of High School. Remembering the James Taylor concert we attended along with some of the movies, the dinners, backyard BBQ.  The fishing trip that Ted planned with Aaron, our son, Rob and their friends.  Crazy adventures. Enjoying watching the boys play baseball

Anytime with Ted and Cindi were fabulous.

Deepest sympathies to you, Cindi, Derek, Aaron, Wendy and the Grandchildren. Yes, those Grandchildren were most important , which prompted the move to CO after Derek and Wendy relocated there.  They wanted to be a huge part of their lives and enjoy the many activities that were yet to come. Cherish the memories, the  laughter, the Wisdom he shared, keep them close to the heart.

Hugs and Much love to all of you.

Barbara and Bob

Our deepest sympathies to you Cindi and the family! We cherished our time together here in Grand Rapids. Much love and hugs to you!
We are so sorry to hear of Ted's passing. I first met Ted serving together on the Town of Blue River P&Z board.  Ted was very passionate about the Town of  Blue River and maintaining the small town feel we all moved here for. My wife Sue knew Ted from his time at Beaver Run resort.  Our condolences to you all in this sad time. Prayers to you all. Doug and Sue O'Brien
Cindy and family, so sorry to hear about Ted. So many wonderful memories!!😘 our thoughts and prayers are with you!!

Derek, Aaron and Mrs. Pilling,

Although we have unfortunately lost touch over the years, I wanted to send a note to pass along my heartfelt condolences to you all.  It was fun to scroll through the photos that were posted.  Mr. Pilling looks the same as I remember from growing up.  His smile and laugh were definitely contagious.  The photo from Thanksgiving and Card Against Humanity, is a great one.  You can also see through the photos how proud he was of you all as a husband, father, and grandfather.

I remember him always being at our baseball games, from TVBL to FHC, to cheer on Aaron and the team.  I also remember him being an avid golfer and if I am not mistaken, I think he spent most of his time (while living in Michigan) golfing at what is now Watermark?  I know how passionate you all were (are) about skiing and Colorado.  I am glad that he (and you all) have been able to live out there since leaving West Michigan.  It was neat to read about how involved he became in the community out there finding ways to make an impact through the things he was passionate about.

I am sorry for your loss, seeing these photos did bring back a lot of very fond memories.  Thoughts and prayers with you all.

Jon

I love seeing all the pictures of Ted with his family. I’ve heard both Cindi and Ted talk of you all often. Ted had a special place in my heart with us both being from MA. He was so sweet and funny and truly cared about his family, friends and neighbors. I so appreciated his kindness and his quick wit.  His death has hit Nick and I hard. One day we’re talking to him, as always, at the golf course and 2 weeks later he’s gone. Just so heartbreaking and way too soon. Wishing Cindi and family strength at this oh so difficult time and hope your wonderful memories bring you comfort.

 Love Heather and Nick Konz

Cindi and family,

Our prayers go out to all of you.  Ted's heart was bigger than Quandary! Janet and I remember how he always loved a joke and to laugh!  He only encourage me to tell him more of my jokes, which most people would say were lame, his laughter will always be remembered by us.  God bless, our prayers are with all of you.  Stephen and Janet Schiell

A lover of both cake and goof…
2018, Boulder, CO, USA
A lover of both cake and goofy facial expressions, this was from Ted's 2018 birthday (August 11th).
Always enjoyed working the Folds of Homor fundraising at Breck with Ted. Also enjoyed his stories about golf ay OffuttcAFB, where, as a young enlisted troop and a great golfer, the generals often came and got him to be their playing partner.
All I can say, and I think it sums up my feelings for Ted…I love him..
