We're so sorry to hear about Ted's passing. We have enjoyed working with and for Ted on the Town's engineering efforts and will miss him dearly.

So sorry for your loss Pilling family. All my memories of Big Pill are so excellent. He never just "stopped by" when Derek and I were in college. He hung around, chatted, and got to know us. Some good laughs. A truly special guy. Thank you Ted for saving us us from the roach infested Jeanne Walters house at IU.

Cindi, Derek, and Aron, we are so sorry to hear about Ted’s passing. We had many good times while he lived in Grand Rapids, dinners with the mob and fobs, Derek’s wedding, and the wonderful trip to Italy, just to name a few. He surely will be missed
You are in our thoughts and prayers as you fill this void with so many of your wonderful memories.
Our deepest sympathy,
Bob and Terry Sokorai

Ted was one of my favorite people at Watermark. I played a lot of golf with Ted and really enjoyed his company. While intensely competitive, he was always a joy to play with. Deepest condolences to his family.

I always loved Ted’s stories about golf and skiing. He loved to share his sons’ adventures. Tell stories, laugh and raise a glass to Ted!

I had the privilege of working with Ted as a players assistant the past 5 years. I was hired during the height of Covid and Ted trained me and kept letting me know that this isn’t how we normally do our job. We spent about 5 hours driving the course as Ted described each hole and how to play it. Ted was an amazing golfer and his short game I will always be envious of. I am so sad for our loss of Ted and will be eternally grateful for the chance I had to get to know him, work with him and play golf with him. I will miss his stories, his wit, and his passion for the Breckenridge golf course. Till we meet again, my friend.

Cindy, Derek, Aaron & the families.... I'm so sorry for your loss.
It’s hard to know where to start. Ted hired me and started my path of 35 years working for Steelcase. He was first my leader, then my mentor and friend. A conservative estimate is that he and I ran somewhere around 8,000 miles together, mostly during lunch hours, but also multiple 25k Riverbank runs. My attempts at golf amused him, and our road trips to go skiing were a joy (and produced some epic memories).
Ted was kind, wicked smart and most of all held himself to the highest measure of integrity. I’m so glad fate connected us, as he made the lives of those around him better.
What a wonderful legacy. We will all miss him.

Aaron,
I am very sorry for your loss. I only knew your Dad from Portugal, but could see you have his smile and laugh which makes others do the same. My thoughts and prayers with you and your family.

Ted was one of my best friends, he helped me at the golf course to learn the job. He became one of the most trusted town board members in Blue river. I and everyone will be less because of his passing. he had an incredible cense of hummer, was very intelligent, really cared about our community, and someone I will always honor. Thank you Ted for your service to this community.

So sorry to hear about your loss. I have many fond memories of him as my little league baseball coach. He made it so much fun for all of us. It wasn’t more than a few weeks ago that I was in my backyard with my own kids showing them a trick pitch that Coach Pilling taught me. You would wind up and switch the ball to your left hand and as you brought your right hand back, then flip the ball quickly with your left hand. The batters were never ready for it. My kids were laughing trying to hit it just as I did when I was a kid. He will be missed.
