Edith Gibson Krannich December 18,1926 – December 31, 2022

Edith Gibson Krannich, 96, of Parsippany, New Jersey died peacefully on December 31, 2022. Eadie was born to Stanley and Ethel Mae Gibson on December 18, 1926 in Belleville, New Jersey. She is survived by her son Douglas Sorhagen and wife Karen; her daughter Leslie DeSessa;

her grandchildren Nicole Roach and husband Jim; Jesse Sorhagen; Matthew DeSessa; Mark DeSessa and wife Lesley; her great grandchildren Charlotte and Valerie Roach.

Eadie graduated from Belleville High School and later went on to attend the School of Business Practice and Speech in New York City which led to a secretarial position at the Department of the Navy.

Eadie lovingly raised her two children while generously volunteering at her children’s schools and Girl Scouts. She was a troop leader for nearly thirty years in Caldwell, New Jersey. Outside of troop level duties she worked with the Girl Scout Greater Essex Council of New Jersey. She was wholeheartedly devoted to the Girl Scouts.

In 1970 she worked for a newspaper called AirList-Ads. A publication dedicated to sharing news about Caldwell Airport.

In 1980 Eadie opened her own advertising/graphic arts business in Caldwell called Uppercase. This was a time when most ads were still being created by hand. Upercase’s doors closed ten years later after life meant more than a deadline.

This started a time in her life when she found her real passion, Tole Painting.

She and her good friend, Dorie Stierli, took many years of classes together. Eventually they started a small business called Craftnique. They would spend all year tole painting to be prepared for one of the largest craft shows in New Jersey at the Morristown Armory. This was a very fulfilling time in her life.

After a full life of ninety-six years, Eadie has seen nearly a century of changes in the world and adapted fairly well. Yet, some of her favorite memories were the simple summers she spent on the Chester farm with her cousins, Aunts and Uncles, and her horse named Jerry.

She loved animals, cats, dogs, birds, creatures of all shapes and sizes. Old movies and Frank Sinatra. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Eadie was a loving person who had a gift for listening to all who needed a friend.

We will all miss you!
