It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Edgar Lowell, born February 12, 1949, who left us on August 28, 2025. A man of unique charm and gruff kindness, Edgar lived a life full of love and simple pleasures.

Edgar is survived by his children: daughters Lori Lowell and Rebecca Bowe, and son Jason Lowell. He is fondly remembered as a beloved grandfather by Hailey, Ellie, and Luke Bowe, and Joe and Seth Lowell. Edgar was loved by all who knew him, and his passing has left a void that will never be filled.

A great aficionado of hearty black coffee, the music of Rolling Stones, and the escapades of Star Trek and various game shows, Edgar was a man of eclectic tastes. A fiercely competitive opponent in Scrabble, he was ever ready for a challenge and delighted in sharing this passion with his loved ones. In his quieter moments, Edgar found refuge and peace in fishing, often retreating to the tranquillity of nature to cast his line out and enjoy the stillness.

While some may have described his exercise routine as simplistic, to Edgar there was no greater joy than a peaceful walk, savouring the fresh air and calmly contemplating his surroundings. His favorite vacation spot wasn't an exotic locale, but the comfort of his own home where he felt the most at ease.

Edgar was best described as kind and caring, although admittedly with a touch of grumpiness. He was a firm believer in not passing judgement, a lesson he never hesitated to impart on those around him. His warm spirit and enduring wisdom will be missed dearly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In the wake of Edgar's passing, we find solace in remembering his hearty laughter, his gentle guidance, and the love he bestowed generously upon his family. May his memory continue to inspire us to live with kindness, patience, and a dash of good-natured grumpiness. He is greatly missed.
